BIOLOGICAL FILTERS

Biological filters, otherwise known as trickling filters, are commonly used to oxidate carbonaceous and nitrogenous material without the use of an expensive power driven machine. Most filters are circular in shape to accommodate the simple rotating distributors that are designed to evenly distribute effluent over the filter surface by the reaction of discharge from the distribution arms. The rotary distributor consists of a stationary inner column and a rotating outer distribution tank to which two, four or six distribution arms are attached. The distribution tank is completely open thus preventing the accumulation of corrosive gases. One of the most important features of the rotary distributor is that the top bearing may be inspected and removed without detaching the arms from the column. We are also highly specialised in manufacturing, repairing, and refurbishing LEKTRATEK, S.A.M.E, and MOUT SEAL filters. We have also successfully maintained these on numerous contracts for years. All of the above mentioned filters can be can be supplied with different bases to suit particular requirements and in a variety of materials to suit all operating and environmental conditions.

CLARIFIERS

These are designed with a general purpose of operating as a desludging mechanism for tanks with sloping floors up to 20° to the horizontal. They are suitable for primary, activated and humus sludges as well as a variety of settlement applications associated with process liquors and trade effluents.

A peripherally driven rotating half bridge is used in conjunction with a heavy duty scraper mechanism. The blades of the above mentioned scraper, are arranged in a radial formation to transport the sludge over the floor into a central well. A sludge pipe extends from the central well under the tank to an external chamber and a sluice valve controls the flow that is under the hydrostatic head. For the final settling tank applications, an adjustable bellmouth is installed that allows the operator to regulate the rate at which sludge is removed. The full range of settling tank equipment, designed, manufactured and installed by Manya Engineering, can be supplied in a variety of materials to suit all operating and environmental conditions.

GRIT REMOVAL

Manya Engineering specialises in shaft mounted screw grit classifiers. These classifiers are more than just a straight grit conveyor. They are a very cost effective method for further washing and conveying cleaned grit to a higher level with the minimum of moving parts thus decreasing the need for expensive replaceable liners in the housing.

Water, grit and organics that enters the unit are deflected down into the well and released air is allowed to escape. The inclined screw conveys grit up the trough and at the same time churning of the grit release trapped organic material. A weir allows organics to return whilst the grit is elevated along the inclined trough out of the water and discharged in a relatively dry condition at the top of the trough. The full range of inlet works equipment, designed, manufactured and installed by Manya Engineering, can be supplied in a variety of materials to suit all operating and environmental conditions.

DIGESTORS

Manya Engineering is the company to choose for the manufacturing, repair, refurbishment and maintenance of all anaerobic sludge digestion solutions in various configurations. During this process biogas is produced. This gas can be used successfully as a source of renewable energy directly as fuel, in combined heat and power gas engines or upgraded to natural gas-quality biomethane for machinery or commercial use.
